Find the antidote to the alienation & fragmentation of modern life.

If we lived in a world where everyone’s hearts were liberated, it would be transformed. Our work would be different, as would our families, our intimate partnerships, our relationship with our children, our environment, and our purpose.

Yet we try to fix the world’s problems even as we still feel broken.

What’s possible with a liberated heart? Your life can be utterly undivided. Love, career, parenting, intimacy, ambition, and play can all flow from the same source, and be fed by the same thing.

It starts with you becoming curious about your inner world –  your hopes, dreams, fears, doubts, and subtle clues of your body.

At 22 years of age…

my life seemed dark and closed. I had no purpose or meaning, and was stumbling into adulthood feeling very much like I was still a lost child. My childhood dreams were no longer my dreams. Like many in my generation (X), I had grown up disdainful of authority and cynical about tradition. At the invitation of my father, I investigated “men’s work,” something that had never really been on my radar.

I found myself, in a short amount of time, surrounded by mentors and elders who had something unseen by me up to that point in my life — lived wisdom. These men were doing something alien to our culture: living lives of purpose and passion, and giving their precious life energy to something greater than themselves. Over the next decade, my life transformed. I felt connected to a sense of purpose and meaning, even as I was challenged to make it manifest.

But the journey was far from over. Now in my early thirties, I struggled to balance my high-pressure job as a healthcare executive with the responsibilities as a father to young children and to find loving presence as a partner. Under all of these competing demands and pressures, days, weeks, and then years slipped past me without me doing much. I realized I was in over my head, and that if I didn’t act I would turn around and be 50, miserable, and living a life that somehow was no longer my own.

So I again sought the support of a few wise coaches to help me redesign my life and reimagine my destiny. I was challenged fiercely to declare what was most important to me and rebuild my life around my core values — not my loved one’s core values, or my parents’, or my culture’s. My fears were brought onto the table so they could be made conscious and metabolized, rather than sabotaging my vision of my most powerful and embodied self.

I won’t lie. It was a hard transition where some things had to die so that other things could live. After some painful but necessary endings, I was left with a life that feeds my soul. I entered my 40’s as the captain of my own life, doing the work that I loved and getting paid well for it. I had the relationship with my children I’d always wanted, and I was in the flow of life instead of battling upstream. My life had become fully my own.

Like with my mentors, my work isn’t just about me. It’s about you and helping you bring your vision to light, and to life. If you work with me, I will challenge you to take a stand for what you believe in and orient your life around what matters most. You too may need to make hard decisions, ones that will reshape your life and how you see yourself.

But your transition into a fuller version of you doesn’t need to be done alone. In fact, it can’t be done alone. I will help you to navigate this territory with grace, heart, and clarity, so that you can spend as little time as possible moving from who you were to who you really want to be.

While everyone’s path is different, I’ve discovered a few universals. One of them is that you can only go as far in the world as you go deeply into your heart. No matter if you’re seeking personal, professional, or spiritual change, you will need your heart. All of it.

The world needs more humble and powerful humans in it, alive to their heart and clear in their purpose.

DISCLAIMER: Work with me is not easy. One-on-one coaching is expensive and I will demand your time, attention, and energy. But when I see the results my clients are actually capable of achieving, it humbles me to the core to see what each one of us can really do. Their successes feels like my successes.
